 day 587. Having a huge lack of motivation the last 2 weeks. Still I wanted to do something new for today, so I made this "crunch it don't smunch it" font. Don't ask, just interpretate for yourself. 😅 I am happy with the result, but it was more a crunch to get there. I set myself the goal to make one board, after reaching that goal making the other two variatons were alot easier and I almost had fun doing it. 😅 pushing through these days is the most important. I was still enjoying my time and it was well spent, but I also had more fun on other days so far. 😆 

day 586. This green pops! Nothig special today

day 585. My "dino" piece in a new light. With a red background and some tags. Now I applied green half transparent layer all over the piece. SO the colours can really merge together.

day 584. Getting close to 600. 😁 Today an easy one again.

day 583. This design I had laying around. 🤔And just zooming in and applying a tag makes for some awesome boards. 🛹😎

 day 582. So I felt inspired to start a "be happy" piece. Couldn't finish it, but the daily boards turned out pretty dope still.🛹

Aimed for a one day project, but since I like the game darktide and sleeping so much, I quickly realised it will not happen. 😅

So then I noticed how I get stressful thoughts and I started to feel the rush to finish it. I calmed down and made a "quick" handstyle instead. I said to myself it's ok to not finish it today. So instead of stressing myself out I tried to "be happy instead" and it worked!😁👌 

I now have a beautiful new handstyle and I am super excited to continue the project whenever I feel like it. Probably tomorrow. 

Usually I don't add alot of fancy stuff around my handstyles. This time I did. Some sprinkles here and there to kinda make it look a bit inked and to big bars on the left and right, to focus on the handstyle and draw the eye to it. 👀 And the boards are 4 very different concepts and I am happy with all of them

And on these days, presenting my art is almost more fun than doing it. 😅

So the takeaway from today is, stressing yourself out to reach an goal is rarely worth it, when you are not having a good time while doing it and your only thoughts are in the future because you can't wait to get it done, then you are not living in that moment. 🤔Yes planning for the future is important, but planning can also only happen in the here and now. 😊✌️ So always make sure you are happy with how it is currently. 

Yes work torwards your goals, but don't forget to enjoy life in this very moment. 🤗💚Because this very moment is all we will ever get. The past is unchangeable and the future uncertain. So your life happens NOW. don't miss it all too often. 😉 

day 581. Not today! 😄

 Alright here is my favourite piece from 2020. "DINONEUNEINS" it already was part in countless artworks and boarddesigns. I did my first morph's with it and in general experimented alot with this one. So it's like a close friend. 😁

day 580. " create healthy habits"

Working hard on some new case designs. This board is from one of them. I still have to do the thumbnails, but I plan on releasing them later this night.

 day 578. eat . sleep . mindset . repeat. 

Life is constant practice. 🌱


I gave my "mindset" handstyle some higlights and shadows, a concrete tecture look and made it green with a slight yellow gradient. And for the background I wasnt quite sure what looks best. Dots, lines or one of my very very old backgrounds I found while cleaning. 

 Some new letter practice ✍️ and some new case designs📲 today combined in one post. 

Sorry about the squared paper, but I made it at work and had nothing else. 

My coworker thought it's trash, so this heretic threw it away... 😫 but I was able to save it, because I like the letters on it. 😂😅I finished it with some outlines. All just for practice.

day 577. While cleaning up my files I found this one here. A variation of one of my first "rhino" pieces. So I made a board out of it.

day 576. Rhinosaur mindset! 💪🤏

day 575. Got a banger concept today and I like it alot. First I wasn't really hyped, been playing games all evening and was super tired. I got up and agreed to do just one line (or like the bare minimum of a board design)

This goal was acchieved that easy, that it tricked my brain and it helped me keep going. Then inspiration kicked in and two hours later we have two new concept designs for day 575. 😁

Can't wait to see these being printed and come to life. Best quality for skating. 😉

day 573. "just be"  🐝means as much as being happy with what you have. 

If you let go any desire, you will be happy. So instead of working for success, money and goods, why don't we work on not desiring these things anymore? It would save us so much time and trouble and all we need for that is be aware of the breath and realise that true happiness is never found outside. Nothing we can get or reach in the outside world we can take with us. Even if we think we found the one thing that truly makes us happy, there will always be the fear to lose it. And WE WILL lose it eventually. So let's work on us and our mindset and try to cleanse it from anger, greed and fear. Because if you manage to do that, you are happy and that happiness is unconditional. It's just there at any time no matter the circumstances. 

And that is really a goal worth working torwards don't you think?

but yeah if it would be easy, we all would not be here anymore. 😅 

day 572. Only this week left to work and then I have my long awaited 2 weeks off. But the last days are always a grind. 😅 

So for today I made some grind boards.I created the "grind" font and  threw a bunch of handstyles together for an overall nice look. 

 day 571. Practiced some handstyles today. I did a "darktide" and a "check your options" handstyle. Darktide is a game that I can play today and what I waited a long time for. Let's see how it is. 

The background is the hive city on tertium.

day 570. Mixed my Dinomorph and my backside font. 

The tag is new, I did it today. 😊

day 569. A handstyle, a graffiti piece and a morph I have for todays boards in a bright orange. 

Also I received my forex-foam prints. 🤩 

day 568. Played around with some colour correction today. and made some green boards from yesterdays "cheeseburger" piece. 

day 567. YES! Finished my "cheeseburger" piece for jerry. Did the last polish on the letters and did the background. And since I already had everything, I made the daily boards with it. If you dont count the four hours before, they were done in like 10 minutes. 😆

day 566. It's a "dang" board!

It amazes me, how composition really can make a difference. Todays board is just 3 times the same font and one font has a simple shadow to it.

I am preparing for an all new look on day 600 or earlier. 

Here is a basic thumbnail that I plan on making  modular, so I can adjust this one thumbnail easy. Currently I have 3 or four mockups that I do each day for like the facebook layout and the instagram layout and website and more. So I want to save myself alot of time and make all of these in this one modular file. And working with a square shape works best, but if I need a different resolution I will leave the eedges of the picture blanc and use a simple background anyways, so it will be easy to just change layouts. 

Effectively this was like 15 minutes of work. but I spent 2 hours to get there. Been trying around having fun, learning and see what works and what doesn't.

And I ended up with having as little information on it as possible to give room for the design and to get people interested. If I put all information on here it will be chaos and people instantly know if they are interested. If theres very little information, then they might check it out and get convinced.  At least thats what I thought.

day 565. nineone MACHINE! 😆

I don't know, just some handstyle I had and my "eins" project where I didnt really like how it turned out. But the fill in is very machine looking some people said, so it fits I guess. 😅

 day 564. Love the layout. 🙃Simple but clean. 😬

 

 🥴Just spent 5 hours or more on getting a system and workflow ready for backside91.com now I am super exhausted, but it was a lot of fun and I will go to the store now and have some nice food and then sleep.

Means thumbnails, mockups, prduct pictures and product videos. I wanted to have all of these in a similar style, so I came up with a layout that I am pretty happy with for now.

day 563. I digitalized my newest alphabet today. I also recorded it so you can see the whole process from sketch on paper to these boards. I post that later. For now I hope you enjoy the finished alphabet and the daily boards. 🛹🛹🛹✍️

day 562. Today I got a "sick" board for you. 😅😬. I dont feel that well today, so it fits. Now I ordered pizza and chill on the couch. 

 Here are the new mockups. Three different cases. Flexi, tough and clear. I hope the symbols make that clear. 

Overall I am very happy with them. 

Also I do choose these now is that these are the actual mockups provided by the company. So I had to cut it out and did all the shadow effects myself, but it was very worth it.. 

I also already got the test subjects. I had them after like two day, wich is very fast. I will make some awesome product photos hopefully tomorrow.

day 561. I made a morph from my "cheeseburger" piece from yesterday.

day 560. Alright today was a good day.😬 I did not fell asleep after work and I managed to make some progress on my cheeseburger piece. It is still work in progress, but the fill in is close to done.  

This weekend I will probably finish it. Really taking my time with it. I'd say it's about 80% done.

day 559. I decided to do the board first today, so I am free of this pressure. Got not enough sleep the last days, so I want to take it easy. 

So its a simple yellorange board. 😬

day 558. Surprisingly felt inspired to started a new morph, so plans changed again. 😅 Can you guess what animal I am morphing my graffiti into?

I ran out of time again, so this one is far from being completed. For example there are no shadows at all, so thats why it looks a bit weird. 

Still it served me very well for todays practice, since I can always pretend that it's finished. So besides the morph is not finished yet, I really like the board layout.

made two phone mockups for the cases. I am pretty happy with it. The white one is for the shop case91.net and the black one for etsy and general advertisement. 

On the black one I tried like 7 different versions, butended up with doing an extra handstyle for each design. It just looks way better.

day 557. Working on my "cheeseburger comission" managed to finish the basics today except highlights. I ran out of time cause stupid work tomorrow. 😅 So This is just a teaser for whats coming the next days. Took about 3 times aslong because I modelled each letter seperately. So every letter can be moved around. 

They are here! 🥳 Turned out great and the hardcover does feel way better than the softcover version. It's like semi-matte and really has an awesome touch to it. 😏

day 556. Check this out! I made another "wall effect" board.🛹

It's a close up photo I made with my s7. I used my "smile" sketch, my "eins" project and some tags I had laying around.✍️

I practiced merging layers with each other. Theres so much combinations you can do. Some look realer than others. At the end I went with 2 layers I set to multiply and brighten up one of it slightly. I polished the edges and removed the graffiti, where the broken out parts of the wall are.

But theres room for improvement and thats exactly why I do this daily challenge. For practice. So the outcome is not that important.

Ttoday I am really happy with the result. 😁
